mods are going to close threads and insist we discuss everything in one of the other threads in here?
surely car launches deserve a thread for each individual team if each indivual race deserves its own thread.

i hate browsing through topics that are obviously going to get a lot of posts containing a lot of images.

we werent forced to discuss all the changes to drivers in the
2010 F1 - Who goes where? Lineup and Teams thread

I think having all the car releases in one thread is fine. Beyond "oooo i like the look of that car" what is there to realy be discussed that makes it worthwhile having individual threads?

could say the same argument about most things.

just seems stupid we fought for this section then we are forced into the same 2-3 threads anyway.

A thread each is a bit much - even if this was F1 only and not general motorsport. There will be a thread for each race and things throughout the season like before, so plenty to post on :)

It's fine as long as the threads encompass fully whatever a subsequent poster is talking about.

Put it this way, I posted the Merc F1 launch piccy on a separate thread, more of an oversight than anything, so I don't mind if its deleted or merged.

What you don't want is something like the planet-f1 forums where there was approx 1053 threads on Schumachers return, 543 threads on buttons move, etc etc.

I prefer it how it is currently, I find it easier to pick the right thread.

If each launch had its own thread i could see the more popular teams threads floating around the top and some threads dropping down considerably.

The race threads work as they are current for a shorter time, before being replaced.

I'd prefer a thread to discuss the individual cars in. It doesn't have to be restricted to launches, it could follow updates to each car over the course of a season. It would be too much for one thread though.

The Motorsport discussion in this forum has died since it was subforumed off. I vote we put it back in the main Motors forum for the casual user to be able to see...

I have to say I much prefer bigger threads. Especially if OP updates the OP with other peoples stuff if it's relevant. Means you just read one thread. Rather than the same info in 4 threads.

But then in motorsports I generally read or skim read nearly every post.

I have to say I preferred having one massive thread than this sub forum! Meant I could just spend an hour every few days reading down the thread and catch up with everything. That thread was then nice and lively. Most threads in this forum are quite dead, with lots of news not getting reported, which would have been in the old long thread system!
