What's the quietest decent 80mm fan?

looking to add a couple of fans to a case for a mate, see if we can get his temps down a bit.
his case has a 120mm extractor at the back but unfortunately will only mount 80mm fans at the front to suck air in.

myself, i'd suggest a new case, but he's a bit skint so this is worth a try for now i guess.

so, if you were buying a couple of 80mm fans for air intake, which ones would you get?

ideally, the quiter the better.

Will a 80mm->120mm adapter not fit? I used a couple of them on an old acylic case and they worked fine.

If not then silverstone make some quiet 80mm fans. The akasa Amber range are also reported to be quiet.

The ys-tech silent range offer good value for money.

But if it's absolute silence you want, then the noiseblocker range are excellent, but for around £10 for an 80mm fan, they're pretty pricey

hadn't thought about adapting a bigger fan, that might be worth a look.

guess i'll have to get a good look at his rig and see how much space there is.
