Whats the same graphics card?

Quick easy question
My pc is quite old now and I have an AMD 7970 Graphics card, with all these new graphics card if I was to buy a new one what graphics card would be on par with the one I have. Could someone post an AMD and NVIDIA card thats on par please, thanks

Is your card no longer functioning? If so, why would you want a card that performs on a par?

Anyway, in answer to the question AMD's 280X is roughly equivalent to a 7970. nVidia don't have a current card that's directly comparable although the previous generation's GTX 770 is. The 970 will be a fair bit faster but is more expensive.

Cheers, my pc works fine but past few days when i go to play Rainbow siz siege online my pc will just shut off for no reason so i feel like its time to build to a nice new pc

The R9 280X is a rebranded 7970 GHz edition. Alas, it's no longer current and I have no idea which R9 3xx series is equivalent to it!
