When you do something with negative consequences (like getting excessively drunk) but then several days later do it again?

Its perhaps a phrase and not just a word?

Insanity is repeating the same thing over and over, expecting different results every time. Something like that. In this case getting drunk and expecting not to make a fool of yourself.

Im looking for a proper word that means repeating an activity that you know will have bad consequences, but repeating it because its really good at the time (like getting drunk one night, having a hangover, and then wanting to get drunk a few days later because its really fun)
