Someone i know is thinking of a gfx card upgrade for their aging pc :) their budget is basically £80.

I had a quick glance and was about to suggest the obvious one which would have been an x1950 pro but i've just noticed this x1950gt seems to have appeared? is this a better option? the benchmarks certainly seem to suggest it might be but its pretty hard to work out exactly.

Or is there any cards im overlooking? :D

A new version of 2900 Pro by Sapphire, with a 256 bit. memory bus but otherwise with the same exact specs as the older models, will be out in a couple of weeks, retailing at around £80 + vat. This card will totally destroy 1950 & similar offerings by Nvidia.

Failing that, tell them to cough up a bit more and go for the HD3850. Oh, and 1950 Pro > 1950 GT.
 
Hi I`ve just bought a X1950 pro AGP and all i can say is it is fantastic,my 3d mark 06 score has gone from 3800 to 5200,i had a 7800gs before that.
Games look so different now and play a lot smoother.
The 7800gs was a decent card,however i couldn`t play Dirt on it,this card allows me 1440x900 with medium settings and it looks and play good.
I recently bought a e2180 and have that overclocked to 2.9ghz and that seems to help.

Whilst the X1950pro is better than the X1950GT, it isnt far better. The X1950GT is a downclocked pro, so depending on price its a good buy too.
