..and most importantly how could I fix this leak?

Thanks

That's Steve.

He's a speedfit connector. The nemesis of my bathroom. The way to fix the leak is replace them with a proper soldered connection.

Depends on where the leak is. If it's at the top end (where the plastic joins the silver metal) then as it looks like the part Mr.E. linked you'd likely need a replacement connector.

If it's where the speedfit connector attaches to the copper pipe then you could try removing it - turn off the water and push up the grey collar into the white bit then push up.

Once removed check the connector is clear of dirt and grit and then use some fine sandpaper to smooth off the copper pipe and try refitting.

Odd all the water hot and cold in my entire house is speed fit and I've never seen one leak (touch wood)

I've had so many problems with them ☹
I'm really surprised the only person I've ever heard moan about plastic plumbing was a carpet fitter and that was only because he has to be really careful when cutting round them unlike copper!

I wish I could say otherwise! Had to replace the kitchen ceiling twice as the bathroom, which is located directly above, had multiple leaks caused by them. Different fittings from different retailers each time.

Then when I refurbished the kitchen I moved the rad and used them and they leaked on that too!

Time for you to give up the plumbing!

Assuming you used inserts in plastic, didn't strain the angle of pipe in fitting and didn't use a hacksaw to cut plastic pipe - I've seen swarf behind o rings before. I come from predominately having used copper mostly but have used plastic on occasion. I usualy lube the oring if putting copper into it, a chamfer (ideally using pipe slice) is a must. Very rarely seen push fit fitted right leak?

Lol. Everything was done correctly. Not every joint leaked and some took time to go. Much prefer a brazed joint!

Make sure the pipe is clean and the pipe end is de-burred and free from and dings / dents. Might want to buy a replacement hose just in case the o-ring has been compromised in the fitting in the picture.

Yeah sry if I told you how to suck eggs - used to going round and fixing diyers. Just seems your unlucky is all. Prefer copper too but as of more recent had issues with fittings and pipe, noticed over the years how copper is getting thinner as well, seen pin holes in stuff that just doesn't make sense, bending also causes ripples which isn't down to guides/former.

Don't worry, no egg sucking affront taken. Quite possibly unlucky however ever time i hear a drip now my mind goes straight to those damn connectors! Also aye, noticed issues with copper too. Thinner and softer.
