Whats this vehicle for

Today on the M56 I saw a 06-reg Passat estate, silver, with blue lights on the roof. It was unmarked apart from that.

What's the point of having a semi-marked police car? Or are they for some sort of special services? With his shades on the driver did look like something out of the FBI :eek:

Saw about 10 of these (different models) bombing it down the M4 over the Second Severn a few weeks back going in the other direction. One after the other. There were BMWs, MERC and honest to God the last one was a Porsche..... :eek:

Surely the idea of an unmarked police car is that it isn't obvious that it's a police car. With huge blue lights on top that certainly isn't the case.

They might ahve had them on there for a special reason, Im pretty sure you can take them off with just an Allen key

But its probably like what Oxbow said.

Saw one of these (but white) on the M6...I was doing about 80ish and he came past me doing about 90odd at a guess.
