Hey fellas,
This:
icon.png

Keeps appearing in my system tray, but whenever I run my mouse over it, it dissapears, sometimes 4 or 5 instances of this icon are displayed, which all dissapear when I run my mouse over it.

Ideas?
Cheers,
Ant

Nuke everything in your system tray and close all your open applications. Now check out your Processes list in Task Manager and have a look for any process names you don't recognise. Then do a Google search and see what it turns up.

EDIT: Don't forget to do a spam/virus scan too - could be spyware

Virus and spyware scans have found nothing, that's why I'm a little perplexed :/

Sure you haven't installed something recently? I just took another look at that icon and it looks really familiar.

Found anything in your processes?

Nope, nothing untoward in my processes. I'm pretty sure it's nothing malicious, but I don't like having something running I'm not aware of.

Could it be to do with a nero package? Not used it before this build.

EDIT: Can see nothing untoward in startup either :/ (using RegSeeker)

Every Nero package Ive used recently has used the same orange flame in red circle icon.

Have you got any DVD playing software on your PC? I'm not 100% sure about this but every time I see that logo I think DVD... watched any movies recently?

VLC is a traffic cone icon I believe so I doubt it is that.

Do you have any codec packs installed? I remember I used to get FF icon popping up whenever I watched a DivX video. Maybe it is something similar.
