Sorry i dont have any pictures to try and make what im asking about more clear, but i hope my description is good enough.

I dont know a great deal about bits of a laptop as i havn't been using it for a great deal of time, but recently by accident i discovered something on my laptop that im unsure what it does.

Im using a lenovo r61, and on the left side of the laptop there are 2 grey buttons or something. they are only about 2mmx2mm, 1 above the other, both between a small firewire port and the PCMCIA port. They appear to be spring loaded, like a clicky pen, where when pushed in, the spring out a further 1cm, then when pushed back they click back flush with the side of the laptop.

My assumption is that they are some sort of eject button for whatever is in the PCMCIA port, but im unsure as the have different symbols, the bottom button has a circle in it, and the top one has a X on it. Without a PCMCIA card, i cant test my theory, and i cant find my old lenovo manual to see what they are either, which is why im hoping there are some knowledgeable people here.
