Whats up with 1080s on OCUK?

hey

Ive been checking every day and cannot see any stock levels for the EVGA FTW and CLASSIFIED models

any idea when they will be in stock?

Also come some one tell me if the price for the EVGA classy is way to high here? its £799 which is $1040 is that a guess price until you get it in stock as other places are advertising way cheaper

the same with the strix oc model same high price but never in stock

is there still a drought for these cards?

Evga have a badly treated hobbit making their cards, he currently churns out 1 a day. Expect that to drop to 1 a week when the hybrids are on the assembly table.

Asus lost the plot a while back, announced a card with a high boost clock and have only managed to ship around 60 or so (iirc) to ocuk since the launch.

Nope customers come first, so they get stock. I did give 8 pack a 1080 HOF though today, which I suspect he shall be thoroughly spanking soon.

well can you please tell me how often you get them in? is it every few days , or weekly, for instance if i pre order today how long will it take for a classified and ftw? please take a estimate


all the other non refrence 1080s are more than 2 slots wide, which wont fit on my mobo

Asus 1080 OC, do not waste your time, I predict someone ordering today will not see one for 45-90 days, really terrible yield. The Gaming SKU performs the same out the box more or less and is vastly cheaper, I recommend this one.

EVGA FTW 1080 is 1-2 weeks, we also have a new none OC FTW 1080 arriving in a few days (not yet online, shall put live in 1hr) and more Classified stock is due in about two weeks which if you order today you should get one.

between the ftw and the classified i hear the classified model is much bigger than the ftw?

can you confirm this as i cannot see any size comparison online between the ftw and classy, im sure you have had hands on experience with these cards...

I have but I kind of cannot remember, but I do think the Classified was bigger, but it was back in June where I had hold of a Classified.

ahh ok, thats cool, ive checked vids online and people seem to say the classy is actually bigger than the ftw, but where Ive compared numerous pictures online I cannot tell a difference as it looks like they are both the same size...

im only curious as the size would make the difference im my purchase between the 2.
