Hey guys, recent upgrade although not my GPU.
Thing is I thought id overclock my card which is a 1080. Im currently overclocking the memory, stock readings are 1898 for core and 10010 for memory within gpu tweak 2.
As I said im working on the memory but in the app now im up to 10550mhz and havnt suffered any lock ups or graphical glitches. Is this normal for a card to overclock so much considering its a overclocked card anyway. Also within 3dmark its saying the memory is infact 1320mhz n not 1550mhz or 10550mhz. Can someone in the know plz enlighten me a little bit, and tell me which of these apps is telling the truth

Thanks

btw temps of the card havnt gone above 55c

it just keeps going I just added another 20mhz and the score on the benchmark I keep running keeps going up

Which is being truthful, or am I looking in the wrong place or getting mixed up somehow?

Thanks

ok I just took it up another 20mhz and it adds 2 in f uture mark, so instead of 1324 its now 1326 but in gpu tweak its 1610. If I get this right that means I can go 50mhz a time and thatll be just 5mhz in reality??

in the process my score has gone from 10220 to 10870

So I can keep going up and expect a problem around the 1500mhz mark in the futuremark reading?? Why are they not matching up? The core is over the 2000mhz with the boost, as you can see in future mark but the memory has me confused.

Edit: ahhh ok so my card shud be locking up or atleast throttling soon then. im now on 10632

Thanks for explaining

Why are you overclocking ? Your CPU is more than enough to handle modern games, as is your current GPU as well at stock settings.

Because I can? And why not? More frames are welcome at all times. but I understand your point.
My card was a gd one when the 1080 was released and cost me 900, was one of the most expensive on this website at the time
obviously nothing to be proud of anymore but hey shes still going fine and wont be dropped until the next generation comes along
im now on 10720mhz roughly, and still no problems

im on 10750mhz n gunna leave it there for the night, temps still not above 55c, cpu around the same using ai overclock to 5ghz.
score in benchmark has risen to 10940 now, its a pretty poor score as ive got a 1080

Thankyou for the help everyone, ill continue this tomoro, who knows I might get to the 11000mhz mark lol
