What's up with Windows Update?

Just doing a new install of Windows XP on a new build and it's telling me 4 hours to download SP2 on a 20mb connection.... it's been at it now for 2 hours and the bar hasn't moved!

Just done a quick speed test and it showed my download speed as 21mb so it's running perfectly. All sites load up super quick aswell, so it's just windows update.

Anyone else having problems??

No just having a look at that now.

One question. Should I just download Service Pack 3? or do I need to download other updates first, like SP2??

Hmmmm. currently downloading directly from Miscrosoft downloads @ 14kb/s

estimated time for 316mb of SP3 = 6 hours+

Iirc you can't install SP3 without at least SP1 present. Awesome innit.

I just installed 300MB worth of updates for Vista using Windows Update. Took about 10minutes to download them.

My XP CD has service pack 1 pre installed

Those links are downloading @ 300kb/s for me.... don't suppose you have any for SP3?
