Whats with my Farcry3 artifacts?

Granted the game has heated up my GPUs the most, and drawn the most power from the wall (620W)

GPU's are overclocked but the nature of the artifacting seems atypical in my experience.

One time I was in a hut and everything turned to shards and I couldn't see where to go.

Currenly it happens when looking at jeeps.

The rest of the scene is fine

memory is at stock as i've never seen performance increase one iota by ocing memory.

Well I dropped the clocks 100mhz in game to 750mhz and the jeep was still artifacting...

no other games suffer...

ok ok i'll try 'stock' (washes mouth out with soap and flails self) clocks and see what happens...

Is this happening in any other games? Does seem like memory issues, even though you state the memory isnt oc'd. Very similair to what happened with a gtx 280 of mine, later confirmed as a memory fault after id rma'd it. That card had only been core oc'd for benching, then ran at stock.

setter it doesn't happen in any other games.

cores are still 'cool' at 63 degrees peak.

One 470 is an MSI, ther other a gainward refurb that ocuk did, with the 1yr warranty.

I bet that card is the one causing trouble!

Wish there was memtest for GPU memory.

I can't swap cards out as they are linked by EK SLI bridge:(

How can I trouble shoot this?

I'll try stock clocks first, but may as well stop gaming the 470's are only great when oc'd

Perhaps just a bug with FC3, i havent got it myself. But apparently it has quite a few issues. Understand it's a lot harder and time consuming for you to test cards individually. At stock, the 470's arent ideal in modern games. Mine at 750 on the core couldnt cope with bf3 on ultra with more than x2 msaa. Hence my switch to the 670 wf. I can now max the game out, with x4 msaa at 1920x1200, 70fps average. Albeit, ive got a very high oc on the core and memory, 1320/7568. And a lot less noise and heat.

This is a bug in Far Cry 3, I've had it happen while running no overclock as well as some of my mates who don't even know what overclocking is. It's been like that since the game came out. Had it on my 580's and 680's. Restarting the game solves it for a while.

i'm on latest nvidia drivers 314.07 btw

rankftw that does seem to make sense, it just doesn't look like classical artifacting from ocing to me

I tried 314.07 for a few days, just a single card and they were woeful for me. Stuttering and fps drops in bf3 and moh. Went back to the 313.96 betas, no probs since.
