What's with the pricing?

That gives a standard comparison 'out the box' of the two cards. The 7850 does give more OC headroom but it still will not clock higher than a clocked 7870. Looking at the frame returns on the two, I feel it is negligible and not noticable differences to warrant the extra poundages.

I whacked it right up and it's absolutely stable, but i've seen others on 1200MHz+? How is this done? Is there some registry hack or something to get more headroom on CCC?

Use Asus Gpu Tweak and unlock the higher clocks.
