Back in day when I were a wee nipper, June, July, August and early september were fine sunny days, not at all blistering hot apart from early august, with the occasional (1or2) thunderstorms, I used to look forward to 3/4 months of nice go outside weather.

All I get now is 'meh' weather until July, 3 weeks of insane heat, and the past 3 weeks have been just cloudy, ~14c and rain, its like October weather

WTF is happening to the weather nowadays

Bloomin global warming I tell thee

its england..what you expect apart from a grey could that hovers above for 11/12 months of the year...

I know how you feel. I never caught much of a tan on holiday (probably due to not getting out of bed till the afternoon) and I wanted to try catch some rays through August but it's just been crappy :(

So in July we complain about the heat.

In August we complain about the rain and cold.

Oh yes it's England where we are never happy with the weather ;)

Weather will be what it is random and unpredictable.

In August in recent years? I expect 30c+ temps, high humidity, sweating like a pig all day and not being able to sleep at night ;) This year August has been great \o/

I love it all except the heat. Nice to see someone finally came in with the predictable "British always whinge" post. :)

We do. World champions are we not?
Surely you are whingeing at my post which proves my point ;) :D

No its been ruddy aweful, seriously its global warming, I study ocean sciences and can write u a 1000line post on the ins and outs of it, basically, ice is melting, making the sea's less salty (adding fresh water to salt water), then global circulation of water is affected, specifically gulf stream, it cannot 'converbelt' the water as quickly due to drastic changes in salinity. When is stops (and its definently a when, not if) UK will not receive warm water from the equator, welcome to moscow temps, goodbye hot summers.

from where ive been

as soon as August the 1st came.... it has been rubbish

Practically May/June and especially July were incredibly hot, i mean we all know how hot July was.

But its sorta turned into October August has :p

maybe we will get an Indian Summer as soon as September strikes. Doubt it

I regard September to May as winter tbh
