Hi while playing warcraft yesterday , the computer sorta froze(game went out of snyc) so i turned machine off , and back on windows wouldnt boot up (windows7) tried loads of things , but to no avail , so i tried to reinstall windows , the start up screen takes adges to come on i mea 5 mins after it loads windows start up files , tried windows xp as well no better,
so i let windows 7 install , about 1 hr ( my machine is wolfdale 8400 4 gb ati 4870 500gb seagate drive and gigabyte x38 mobo ie no slouch) the hard drive etc is not old either less than a year
anyway once windows installed it runs like a cow now , and freezes constaltly the hard drive light always seems to be on what the hell has happened , how can start to find out whats wrong , i suspect either the hd controller or hd is ****** ? i tried to use another sata controller on the mobo , but same problems ? also i got my hd from ocuk , what sort of warranty does the 500g seagates have if its that thats wrong , and how can i prove the harddrive is buggered?
or could it be something simplie i am missing thanks guys
