I had to drive to Birmingham yesterday and, feeling crap, I took my father's Passat instead of the Elise as I wanted some comfort.

I enjoyed it It was nice driving a quiet, comfortable car with some torque again.

What's next? A pipe and slippers? A 5 series?

You know you need a 540i sport. Down most roads it'd be quicker than an elise, and it cruises along the motorway in silence when you want it to with the engine barely ticking over to maintain 70mph.

It'd have to be an E60 and they're still quite expensive.

Not that I'm considering changing my toy car for a barge, of course.

I'm taking the Elise back home (to Hethel) tomorrow morning for a factory tour, that should bring me to me senses

And now the temp display on the STACK is playing up

Yes, we pootled about the production line. Pretty similar to any other small volume, hand built car plant really, but nice to see my car's heritage. There were a large number of Europas being built so they're obviously selling quite well.

 

[Nozzer]

No, some Korean/Chinese/Japanese TV crew seemed to be reviewing the Europa on the track while we were there.
