The head of one of my fish and under its gills have become very red suddenly

Does anyone know what the problem could be?
None of my other two fish and two loaches have any problems.
I cleared the filter two weeks ago and the water is in a good condition. I feed them pellets (although have recently started giving them flakes).

This is quite worrying :(

not sure whats wrong with your fish Inazuma, though it could be stress like Energize said (is the tank a little small for them?). The thread title made me laugh though for some reason, needed that :)

just get a fresh water test kit and test the water for ph,nitrites, nitrates and ammonia.

from what you describe it could be burns from ammonia been present but no way to tell unless you test the water.

btw go here http://www.theoscarspot.com/index.php?option=com_frontpage&Itemid=1

it is a excellent fish site they guys would be able to give proper info :)

tbh some of the reply's here are made by dafties.

you need to lightly fry it and eat with chips and ketchup, that'll sort it right out.

^there be a daftie....

seriously go to http://www.theoscarspot.com/index.php?option=com_frontpage&Itemid=1

they guys and lassies will help you and you wont have any one trying to take the **** there.

edit2: how did you clean the filter? did you put the filter media under a tap? or did you clean it in a bucket of tank water?

under the tap is a big NO NO as it kills bacteria that convert ammonia to nitrites and then to nitrates.

i would recommend a large water change with water conditioner to be done immediatly just incase.

but go to that site and post the same pic and problem with as much detail as possible in the 911 emergency section.
