Hello
Please can you take a look at my overclock and point me in the diction of whats wrong with it .
The problem im getting is its crashing when playing dayz , its nice and stable for bf4 but always crash's in dayz ,not straight away but normally after about 10 min to 1hr of play (i get a screen freeze )

Dual ,Evga GTX780 sli (reference)
Core clock: +103
memory:+395
power target: 106
temp target :79
overvoltage :+38 ( I have no idea how much of this is needed so i put it to max as temps seem fine)

Any help would be great ,as im puzzled, I know im far far away from being good at overclocking but i though i new the basics of gpu clocking , but clearly i dont know enough to make this work , so please help

Thanks
Sleepyluke

If its only in one game could the issue be system stability or indeed drivers?? Investigate the drivers via the web to see if other users have reported issues.

Having done this initially remove the overclock on the VGA ram and see if the problem continues. Its not always temps that cause lock up.

all my drivers are uptodate , some other have had this issue with their overclock also but only some ?
if i take the overclock off my gpu the game runs fine.

please explain what "VGA" means so i can remove that setting as you said above.
also ruffly what overvoltage should i be aiming for ? (i mean if max is not needed I dont want to max it if thats not needed or helping in any way ? )

thx for your fast reply

After some more testing i also notice that in bf4 i can put my gpu OC at
Core clock:+200
but overvoltage must be at :+38 (any lower and fail, screen freeze like in dayz )
is it that dayz is pushing my cards harder than bf4 ? and showing that my overclock is unstable ...I thought bf4 on ultra was one of the best tests you can give your gpu overclcok ?

Is the answer as simple as i must keep bring down the "core clock" to find a more stable overclock ? Im hoping this is not the answer as this would mean im not able to over clock my "core clock" much at all as im already looking at going lower than +100 ?

ok so i think i got it stable in dayz running at
Core clock: +96
memory:+500
power target: 106
temp target :79
overvoltage :+0

BUT how do i get my "core Clock" higher , I thought upping the overvoltage would allow me to push core clock higher ? BUT as you can see from the first post Core clock @ +103 with all the overvolatge i can give it , and its not stable ? BUT yet its stable at, core clock 96 ( just 6 lower ) with no extra overvoltage at all ?? please can you shed some light on the for me ,if at all possible

And once again thx load for your awesome info of the overclocking world

One or both GPU. Most probably just one needs more volts or more cold to be able to get over +96 stable. This is the way it is sometimes and as you can only add 38mv then you really have no volts to play with.
