What's wrong with my PC?

Long story short I spent a fortune because I wanted a top of the range PC. It turns out my specs can't even manage a good FPS.
For example, I run a benchmark and look, I can't even manage a solid 80+ FPS ....

What is happening :(

Is it supposed to say "Windows NT" in platform ?

I am confused as to your inquiry though it says FPS 86.6, was you expecting the minimum FPS to never drop below 80 ?

I don't know what to think. I've seen people with worse rigs than mine and scored twice the amount I did. And no, they didn't overclock.

Is the score I got good?

You won't get a 144 fps at 1440p on a single 980ti, nor a single 1080.

That said there is nothing wrong with your benchmark or rig. It will do what it's designed to do, I fear you expect more however. Short of buying more bits you could always try and overclock.

You need to appreciate the bench is with pretty much everything at max. Should be happy with that, in games you can tweak a few settings to find a sweet spot of eye candy vs performance.

You have everything set to Ultra and Extreme, so you can't expect 144 fps, at least not in benchmarking software. In a real world game where you can tweak certain settings then you should be able to get there, depending on the game of course.

I should publish my benchmark results with a 6700k and GTX 660 to give you a sense of perspective, heh. Hopefully the 1070 will come to my rescue soon.

he has such a tough life

excuse the awful colouring, i was having issues with screen shot, so had to convert it to a paint opening file rather than windows explorer it started as and that didnt go well either, so tried to alter, but used colour instead lol

edit: whats with the windows NT rubbish? my last bench with another card shows i was on windows 8.1?

The OP's score does seem very low considering his spec. I've asked for this to be moved to Graphics Cards to see if the guys there can help.

In the interim I'm assuming all drivers (including chipset drivers for the motherboard) are up to date? Also, how much RAM do you have?

The windows NT bit is a bug with the Heaven benchmark, I am guessing your on windows 10, the score is a bit low but it all depends on exactly what version of the 980ti you have and at what clocks the card is at. If its @ stock clocks then it seems an ok score.

Try using MSI afterburner to monitor temperature and clock frequency.

Maybe not if you blindly push all the sliders up to extreme, but by mixing and matching certain settings between high/very high/ultra I can get 100+ and with quite a few games easily hit the 143.7fps limiter for Gsync with a 980ti and 1440p 144hz monitor.
