What's wrong with my sisters computer (graphical corruption)

My sister texted me this picture, basically asking me what she should do to fix her computer! I have guided her through removing and reinstalling the last available Catalyst driver for her graphics card (X800XL).

My immediately thoughts are of an overheating or failing graphics card. I had her check the fans inside, and they are both working just fine. Which leaves me with the failing graphics card.

Any other thoughts as to what this might be?

Try a new vga lead is possible could be that and also try the pc on another monitor that's what pops in to my head when I look at that screen.
Probably the gpu though yea.
