I had sky for a few years and then in the last 6 months upgraded to SKY+. Since i've upgraded ive had endless problems.
What happens is... we'll just be watching TV normally and then all of a sudden the box will just turn itself off (screen goes off and rid light comes on) and then sometimes comes back on a few seconds later... other-times it takes a fair while to come back on... and a fair few times we've had to unplug it and follow the reset procedure that the sky customer care talked us through.
Fair enough... sounds like a faulty box i thought... so we rang up and got the engineer out. He flashed it again with the latest software, gave us some speel about how it happens sometimes, and off he went. But the same problems continues to happen. We got the engineers out again and this time they replaced the box. Brand new box it appears too. Same problems!!!
Any ideas?? My thoughts were a) maybe its power surges or similar... so we've got a fancy surgemaster plug which hasn't helped. b) the dish.. but the signal seems good when you look through the menu's at signal strength etc and the sky engineers all seem to think thats fine c) overheating... but its got fair bit of space around it. its not got any other units above it or anything.
Any idea's / suggestions on what to try appeciated.
