Was playing GTA and noticed a small line on the screen, it happens in other games too and it's not the 360 that's outputting the line, because when you change the screen format to 4:3 or zoomed, the line remains in the same place.

Anyone know what it might be?

The purplish one across the middle?

What sort of TV is it? Does it do it to other connected sources; TV receiver, other consoles etc.? What about via other connections?

It's a Samsung LCD, I can only really see it over component and don't have any other sources to try, live TV isn't really clear enough but I'm positive it's not the console.

Could it be burn-in?

Technically LCD's don't suffer from that, but they can get Image Persistence (if you're being pedantic :p)

However I thought a still image would have to be on the screen for a hell of a long time for that to occur.

Sometimes it can be cured by putting a single colour or a bright white on the screen for a long period of time so the pixels 'reset', or you can get colour rotators that constantly flash solid colours quickly to try and achieve the same thing. I would also try to gently massage the area with a soft cloth. That's my understanding anyway, but it could just simply be a fault on your TV.

This should probably be in the AV forum though.

Strange, I used it last night and that mark has now gone

The only thing I've read that comes close to that is a complaint that some old Samsung LCD TV models would put an odd band (which was described as similar to what you are seeing) across the center of the screen when scaling an image.

Well the 360 is still running at 720p so it can't be that.

The dashboard was left on the screen for about an hour before I noticed that mark so maybe that did have something to do with it.

The mark doesn't correspond to anything on the dash though.
