Whats wrong with OSX...

Hi.
This morning i went about the task of replacing 10.4 with 10.3, because it runs smoother.
Anyway, i formatted the HDD in my iBook with the 10.3 installer, but the installer itself, gets stuck at varying percentages on the first disk. The disk is flawless and theres nout wrong with it.

Ideas?

It could be that there are enhancements in the 10.4 disc you've got appropriate to your iBook. Maybe there's new circuitry that the 10.3 software doesn't like?

First time I've ever heard of someone going back a version of OS X!

Nah.
My iBook shipped with 10.3.
Solved it now though.

Im only going back because Tiger runs like a dog on this system and im starting to get complaints from the users(parents). For email/web, 10.3 is more than good enough.
