As title, I was *in a place where they display apple machines*, looking at the notebooks, and was playing on the macbook and there is a distinct delay when using the trackpad, like it has trouble keeping up with where my finger was, very disorientating.

I then went on the macbookpro, and it was instant, it followed where my finger was all the time, both machines were 2.4ghz core2, 1gb ram and 2gb respectivily.

I was going to get a macbook, but if there all like that, NO WAY, it will have to be a pro :( expense just for a trackpad that can keep up with me:

EDIT: there were 2 macbooks there, both showed the same behavior.

Probably the track pad speed.

For some reason they are on the slowest speed by default which is extremely slow. Same for any mice you plug in.

Being a display model its probably been poked, bashed and vandalized by few hundred different people and developed a fault. I can assure you a brand new one will be fine though. :)

I guess, its not a 'fault' though, it works fine, its just got a very slight delay, like the mouse pointer is 'heavy' if that makes sense......like its accelerating then gets upto speed but never --quite-- keeps up with you, obviously as said I checked the settings, so it wasn't that, unless the settings didn't apply properly of course. My mate has one ill have a look at his, I was wondering weather the onboard graphics aren't fast enough or something, giving the cpu to much to do or something, lol.

It's got bad AIDS from all the types of people that go in there. Try one in a proper shop that doesn't get such abuse for being a "shiny thing".

Mouse acceleration is different on OS X. Takes some getting used to, however it doesn't explain lag (it does explain why you feel the pointer is heavy)

The mouse on my PC feels odd now...
