That would do it. It's a business park..they don't want sk8ter bouys cramping the place. Glad they did it...i love it up there, have worked at a couple of companies up there and often pop up for drinks or a meal...i'd hate to see it ruined by skaters.

i hear comments like this all the time WTF is wrong with skater punks

ok there may be a small noise issue but apart from that i cant see what the problem is out of all the people (excepting large groups of armed drunk chavs) ive found that most "upstanding citizens" are very threatening last year a guy came up 2 me and 2 of my mates and threatened to throw us through a trolley shelter window just cause we were standing in there out of the wind having some food

and the looks and comments ive had and occasionally still get are terrible

sorry for this rant but it just annoys me

I believe in my local town there was actually a big push to get a dedicated skater park because of the damage skaters were doing to low walls, slabs etc at the local council building where they hung out at night.

Also a lot of people don't like kids on boards/skates flying past them at speed.

It could be worse - what about chavs on scooters?

Or those mini motos - they come racing up and down our street (it's a private street so minimal/no traffic). It's dangerous and they are not insured.

As for skaters they can be very antisocial from my experience with them, and there are enough parks and skate parks and other areas for them to go rather than scrambling around busy squares or places, being noisy, damaging property where people are trying to work and give a smart image - they get in the way and can cause hazards to people too.

You're all an eyesore with your baggy jeans, hooded tops, long hair and poor posture. The foul colloqualised language doesn't help either. Try going to a tailor and getting fitted out for a nice lounge suit, seek advice on correcting your posture and take elocution lessons. That should make you all a bit more presentable and socially acceptable.

I personally would love to see you skating around in your fine suits, standing upright on your boards whilst greeting ladies and gentlemen as you pass by.

They're scruffy
They're noisy
They get in the way
They cause damage to property

Scruffy - If you say so, I find it a tad presumptios to say that everyone that partakes in one social activity is a mess.

Noisy - Again, hard to believe. A group of people skateboarding causes no more noise than a group of friends walking down the street.

Get in the way - I can see where you come from with that one, although, Skateboard parks are popping up all over the place, and its hardly common for people to be barged out of the way by skateboarders.

Damage - Some damage is caused, but its far from a big deal. Most places that should not be skateboarded on (memorials, business buildings etc) are usually left alone or patrolled so they cant be used.

These generalisations are crazy. Like me calling you a northern monkey (despite living near you) just because of one fact aout your life.

Go on my son ! :D

Yes, and they wear slippers. Though that was kinda included in scruffy ;)

I was asked (well, the forum was asked, and I'm assuming the question was directed at non-skaters) specifically what was wrong with skaters.

If you don't like the answers don't read the thread.
