So i want to change my water to pastel white, however i see people moaning about not using pastel.... To make it worse i want to use the aurora stuff  :D

So what am i letting myself into using aurora ?

Aurora is not for everyday use, it was really for show builds and photos.

Do a bit of googling then pick what water you want to use, less additives the better.

Ok forget the auroura stuff then lol.

However after some googling the pastel stuff should perform fine and mayhems are claiming 3 year life spai have xspx blood red at the moment. Tempted to run some clear to flush the loop for a few weeks maybe changing it a couple of times.

It's not strictly been proven but there is numerous cases of people having issues with the pastels changing colour in the loops and gunk forming around the fittings. Jayztwocents has recently had an issue with it and made a video, worth a watch to know what you could potentially run into. :)

Yeah that ^^^ and the fact they attacked him personally on twitter (the owner of Mayhems runs the social media and hes a ****) and I would never buy a thing from them, id rather put my own **** in... They are a disgrace and something needs to change in their company or I will certainly never buy anything

Mayhems PR is always ends up great. The CEO takes criticism personally and will lash out at first. He knows this is a personal issue and has now hired someone else to do PR for him. But there are multiple cases of him giving away free products and even a factory tour on these forums.

I don't care what "offensive" things that have been said. Their coolant is universally acclaimed and I won't use anything but. Been a year and a half without issue.

Agreed, having seen the final resolutions of most of the issues which people have had. Even when it's been their fault (not following recommendations of flushing systems before use etc.) then he has frequently sent out complete replacement products as well as products to clean out the system prior to them being used.

Personally I wouldn't use anything else, just follow the advice and the recommendations and most of all don't be a **** about it when you have issues.

I have used pastel in both of my builds, and in my old build.
I have used red / black & white along with various dyes.
I have had no issues with these, I used my original pastel for 18 months + with no maintenance at all, prior to stripping down my loops.
I cleaned with Blitz and filled everything back up with white, which I'm yet to colour however I still have no issues.

The atitude of the people who represent the company is ******* shocking.

They really don't know how to support customers. Or speak to them. As a past user i know i won't be using them again.
If you read the whole of the thread you have quoted (Especially pages 2 & 3) you'll see that the OP actually gets an invite to look around the factory along with a full scientific explanation of what happens if you use the product he is trying to replace Aurora with.

Also on that Youtube video there is the following update from JayzTwoCents:
JayzTwoCents said:
UPDATE: Mayhems and Michael Wood has spoken with me and has apologized. I feel that his apology is sincere and we are both guilty of being ********. I know that I have been called out plenty of times for being a "********" and I know thats not how I want to be portrayed and he feels the same way. Ultimately the decision is still yours to decide on how to move forward which was the point of this video. All I ask is to please keep the derogatory comments towards Mayhems out because thats not exactly the best way to stand up against bullying, right?

Do not use aurora for a day to day system.

I run pastel white and I've had 0 issues with it. Granted I did replace my rads with Mayhem 360mm Havocs at the same time and he guarantees those rads don't need flushing.

The whole thing with J2C didn't need to happen but whilst he's making money uploading videos of course he would do that.

Sad to see that Mayhems have deleted their facebook account due to J2C fanboys leaving 1 * ratings just because Jay was upset and 'muh youtube idol' is upset.

I'll just say this even with the ****storm of the J2C video he's still using Mayhem fluids which is ironic considering throughout the video he said he wouldn't buy or use their stuff again.

IMO, If you are not going to some sort of convention or show off, just skip all additives and stuff, apart from some bacterial killing clear additive if you cant/wont use a silver kill coil.

Its fun for a few hours and a couple of facebook pictures/whatever, after that, you tend to forget about the insides of the computer and just use it.

Wow what a can of worms i have opened.

From looking about it seems Mayhems is about the best fluid, It also seems the MD of the company is a Total tool, However reporting directly to a MD myself and being head of sales i become the buffer between the tool and the customers so i feel a little of the pain here.

My case is on display in our games room directly next to my Mrs PC and tbh i want it to look "cool" as we often have guests over for games nights etc. Im going to give the white Pastel a whirl based on the very mixed results here and all over the internet and make my mind up myself i think. I am prepared to do a Total strip down of the system if needed however i might change the fluid at the same time as moving over to hard tubing.

Really fancy giving the hard tubing a go. However will mean selling my res and pump and getting a smaller one :(

An alternative could also be to use colored tubing.

Then again, if you want colored fluid, just go for it! In the end, its your PC.

Thanks for the heads up man I won't be shopping at mayhems lol

i could go with coloured tubing but then its clear in the res :(

Just debating if i should invest in all the bending kit and hard tube it or not. I love watercooling my PC it looks awesome i can overclock it until my heart is content but the arse ache of draining it for each new GPU lol.....

Personally I benefit from the inertia of a Watercooled build. Stops me making impulse buys as the price of a decent block is ludicrous.

Been using Mayhems X1 and dyes for over 3 years with no problem. Brought from OCuk and Mayhems direct.

Im also using there own tubing at them moment ( was using primochill LRT).

By going into the custom watercooling route, you have to be prepared for potential problems and niggles at some point.

Draining a loop can be simple if you plan your route and the use of taps and quick disconnects makes things simple.

Takes me 1min to remove my gpu from loop without draining the system.

I felt the same way, then i invested in a bunch of koolance qd3 quick disconnects so i can easily swap the gpu's and/or cpu (i run two loops) easily without draining the entire loop.

Like so:
