Just last month I was running on the following system:

Athlon 64 X2 4600 @ 2.6Ghz
Asus A8N-SLI Premium
AC Freezer
2GB OCZ Gold DDR3200
256MB 7800GT

I managed to sell this lot on the famous auction site for £210, each part separately. Great time to sell socket 939 stuff :D

I then purchased:

Intel Q9450 2.66Ghz @ 3.40Ghz (from MM)
Asus Maximus Formula X38 (from MM)
AC Freezer 7 Pro (new)
4GB OCZ PC2-8000 Platinum (new)
768MB 8800GTX OC (from MM)

For £335 in total.

So cost me all in all ~£125 to upgrade and its a HUGE improvement!

I then managed to sell my 8800GTX OC for £125 and I've just purchased a GTX 260 for £145 delivered :D So another HUGE upgrade, for only £20!!! :D

Looks like my system should keep me happy for another 2 years now as my old athlon dual core one did so I'm pleased. Any of you guys managed to upgrade for cheap? :)

How the hell did you sell a GTX for £125?

I recently bought brand NEW parts for an upgrade. Cost me ~£255 for the following:

Biostar TP45-HP
OCZ ReaperX (2x2gb)
e4600 with Xigmatek Red scorpion
Xigmatek NRP-MC651
xfx 9600gt Alphadog edition
X-fi Fatal1ty

Was this in the bay as well??:)
Also was this recently?

Yes it was there lol, I did a search and saw them going for between £85-£115 and so I thought I will try with a buy it now. I did think it was priced a bit high but tbh it was such a good card I would have been happy to keep it. It sold within a day, its amazing what a nice well laid out description can do :p

The guy who received the card was well pleased with it too, left me some good feedback so everyone was happy :D Then I kept my eyes on MM and when the first GTX 260 popped up I had to grab it! :)

I was a bit gutted I missed out on OCUK's GTX 280's they had going for ~£230. By the time I saw that they were sold out.

I don't know tbh :p

I was very hesitant sell up originally, a mate convinced me in the end to just go for it while socket 939 prices were high. This was just a few weeks before the phenom 2 was released so I thought if I waited until then, maybe that would have dropped the 939 prices back down a bit, so I decided to sell.

Now I am thinking should I finish it off with another 4GB ram for £40? I don't think I use my PC for anything to ever require 8GB but I'm very tempted :p

OCZ 4GB PC2-8000 Platinum XTC (2x2GB) EPP (Nvidia Approved)
- £42
