This type of thread probably has done the rounds before but not seen it in a while, just wondered what everyones biggest win has been, could be from a accumulator, scatch card, lotto, entered some sort of prize where you win a car or holiday or electrical goods etc? Ever appeared on who wants to be a millionaire etc you name it..

What's the most money / best prize you have won and what did you spend it on?

Mines quite boring, won a couple of £300's from footie accumulators and won 180 quid on lotto and 80 quid on a £2 scatch card. Apart from that can't say i've had much luck, i do know someone who won 70k on the gran national .. wish it was me who put that bet on.

Won a few grand split up across casino wins, £300odd on a euromillions ticket, quite a few other bits and pieces over the years. Oh I also won loads on the Plus5 lotto deal we had years ago but then they got rid of it, added an extra number and doubled the price because scumbags. I don’t gamble anymore.

£200 Cashpot from a fruit machine at the snooker club around 25 years ago,
i was only playing with some loose change so all profit

EDIT, i forgot, around 20 years ago i won £601 from picking 3 numbers in the bookies on the 49's from a £1 bet

£2500 on a football bet in terms of sheer profit, I've won a bigger amount than that but put a lot down, would have left me in a sketchy position if it hadn't paid off!

I am terrified of gambling. I once saw a guy in Vegas lose his mind at around 3am at a roulette table. I only saw the aftermath where the first 10 mins was him pleading to the casino owners for something and the next 10 mins sobbing outside trying to get back in. I only heard from other bystanders that he went nuts at the table so it could’ve been a show for all I know but it certainly had the desired effect. Gambling can be very, very dangerous.

I used to bet for abit of fun and then back in may I put £5 on to win around £55,000 on a Saturday and all the games were coming in. (14 fold) there was 2 more to play in the evening (real madrid who won 4-1 or something) and another team to win which won 1-0 in the end I think. So basically sevilla was the only one losing in the second half then they equalised and it was offering me around £1,000 cash out and I didn't take it. then they went ahead and cash out went up to about £5,500 and I was on the edge of my seat hoping the game would finish along with the other games then in the 80 something minute sevilla concede to make the game finish 2-2 and that was me feeling like **** for weeks. was absolutely gutted. My own fault because I got greedy and didn't take it. Oh well learn from my mistakes I guess.

No jokes but I once won the Euromillions three times in a row.

Something stupid like £6, then £4, then £5.50 :(

When I got the email the third time I thought that was me set for life :(

I've seen a lot of situations like this and it can be a dangerous way of thinking, at the end of the day you ended up £5 down. Feeling **** over not winning money is usually a sign of other issues.

In a raffle, I won a cruise around mexico (Yucutan Peninsula), Honduras and Belize on a three masted sailing ship with loads of snorkelling, adventure stuff, all meals and so on. Was a $9k holiday some 15 years ago. Was mega.

yeah it didn't really effect me well for a few weeks. I think it made it worse that I used to work in an electrical engineering solutions spot with lots of people working there and all they did was bang on about it all day. Learned from my mistakes anyway and done abit of growing up since. All part of the learning process I suppose.

Apple iPad at work
Google Home Mini at work
Various other raffles, comps at work, champagne etc.
3 week excursion to Peru and Ecuador (flights and spending money not included)
$1 return flight to Tokyo from Auckland on Air NZ
£200 boxing bet a few years ago
£150 off a free bet from Betfair a few months ago

Never won anything decent on lotto though.

Won loads of small things like alcohol, weekends away, small gadgets, food and small amounts of cash during quizzes etc. etc. Most expensive thing I won though was a car in the States. Didn't someone on here win a few hundred grand on the lottery?

My Dad came in one night with a face like a ghost - Said I have won national bingo - It was a return trip for two to New York on the new QE2 - not sure if it was the QE2's first Atlantic crossing.

I had a raffle ticket at my local clay shoot and won a weeks cruise on a 70ft narrow boat - I took myself out half way and my Mom and brother bought it back to boat yard -
