Had a search and couldn't see anything but I think it was DP said soemthing about a Ricoh SLR he had in another thread that got me wondering were we all started.

Started off with a Ricoh FF9 35mm point & shoot maybe about late 80's, early 90's. I remember it got good reviews and I wanted something small as it would be used for travelling. It travelled thousands of miles with me and took tons of photos then I gave it to my mum as she was using the cheap disposable film cameras.

First digital was Canon G3 which I think I got early 2003. Think it was a toss up between it and one of the Nikon Coolpix range, possibly the 4500 or something. Still have it somewhere unless my wife has lost it but it was a pretty decent little camera.

Next up was my 20D dslr purchase 2004/05 which I wanted as the G3 could be a bit slow to focus at times depending on the nature of the subject. Went the Canon route as I had flash etc.. from using the G3. Fantastic camera which still impresses me although I fancy an upgrade as I'd like something which I could bump the ISO up a bit with worrying too much about how noisy the image is. Still use the 20D, didn't actually realise I've had it for so long.

What about you lot, where did it all start off for you?

@ElDude - lol at your mum going mad and throwing your films out. :)

Some nice cameras in the last few posts there. Canon seems to have done well out of the posts so far, the majority being their gear.
