What's your default keyboard hand positions?

Just noticed the other day that I'm constantly in FPS mode.

Pinky on shift, thumb on space then AS and D.

It seems I'm always ready to sprint forward and jump at any time even when writing in Word.

Is anyone else the same of have different default positions? I'm curious now XD

No, that's just odd I always have to shift hand positions for FPS position. Hand seems...unnatural if it's on FPS positions on its own. + in those instances other hand is on mouse instead of typing.

One hand approximately a foot above the keyboard propping my head up, with the elbow leaning on the desk and the other hand wedged between my genitalia and inner thigh for comfort/warmth (regardless of room temperature)

When i game i use a Logitech G13. It is a beautiful piece of kit once you are use to it and has the advantage of a thumb joystick which you can map if your games suit that kind of movement.

CTRL is the optimum key for crouching - what do you use then?

I'm the same, whenever I sit at a PC I default to boxing FPS stance

For me it depends on the game, if it's single player I will use C, but if it's multiplayer I will use CTRL, as I use hold to crouch in multiplayer.
