Hey everyone, what's your home network like? Do you have NAS devices on your network? Any servers?

My home network currently consists of:
1 Server running 2008R2 being used for Active Directory, DNS, File Sharing
3 Laptops
3 Computers
1 iPhone
1 iPod
1 XBox
1 Virgin Media Modem
1 WNR2000v2 Router
1 WRT54Gv2 with DD-WRT Firmware acting as a switch

However, I'm planning to upgrade everything to a 1gbps connection (apart from the Internet obviously :P)

What's everyone's home network like?

Woah, that's a nice home network setup you have there.

Currently have:

3 windows 7 desktops
4 laptops
various wireless devices

1 VM server consisting of:
WHS2011
Server 2008 r2 DC, DNS, DHCP, WINS, etc
Server 2008 r2 DC, DNS, DHCP, WINS, etc #2
Server 2008 r2 Exchange 2010
Server 2008 r2 SQL Server 2008
Windows 8 build 7989 :D

Dell Poweredge 2950 running Server 2008 r2 for testing things :)
Intel sr3200 Chassis with an intel mobo running SBS 2003 (again for testing as its only x86 :( )

Network backbone consists of:
Linksys SP2024 gigabit managed switch
Hp Procurve 8 port gigabit unmanaged switch
Billion 7800N

I also have a load of Cisco stuff which I am going to start using properly once i know how to use them 100% ! :p

Just me in my flat. I wonder how many of you have a full family :D

1 Virgin Superhub
-> 16 port Linksys gigbit switch.
-> Windows Home Server
-> WRT54GL running Tomato Firmware
PS3 used as a media server for the main tv.
1 main PC
1 PC for laser cutter
1 laptop
Mobile Phone

All the gear is in a 12 U half depth cabinet inc server. (6 hard drives, 7Tb storage, has all DVD's music etc on it)
I used to have a firewall router and another 10/100mb switch, but the superhub had its own gb switch, so that got rid of them! Don't use wireless on the superhub as it is really really bad. My tomato firmware says my wireless currently has 56 days uptime, and thats only because I had to unplug the cabnet to move it. Its bulletproof!

Most jealous, wish I had a house and money to build a home network like some!

Don't have a recent network diagram, but I do have an older one, I don't have the SonicWall anymore and I only have one server now (HP Microserver)

I am creating my new network layout using Cisco Packet Tracer :)

Anyhow, here is an old visio diagram of my old network

some nice setups here

I currently have

win 7 main PC
media center/server
win 7 PC
win vista PC
netbook
phones
iPod touch
carp Belkin router, to be replace in the future.

Rather modest, Cisco 1801, 20MB Sky (running at 11) and 20Mb Virgin, only setup my 1801 last week, but planning on tunnelling into work, and doing something funky with load sharing between my two links, plugging the Sky DSL into the 1801, or something ghetto like segmenting off machines by giving them DHCP reservations with a different default GW.

Also need to invest in some VoIP phones set up Asterisk, and move my house phone over to that. Probably Nortel 1535's.

Apart from the networking, I've just got 4 PC's and a microserver and 2 laptops.

Spent far too long doing that :p

Spread out over 3/4 rooms and two floors. Most of the VMs are running either Ubuntu Server or Debian.

I've also just took delivery of a Sun v40z (4 x Dual-core Opterons - 16GB RAM) and 4 x 14 Disk FC arrays (56 disks ffs!) for a Teradata SN dev system that's running SLES:

epeen++ :p
