What's your home network like?

Blimey - and I turn my little Netgear NAS off overnight because I don't want to waste electricity (or kill the planet). How do you guys with all those machines live with your electricity bills (or your carbon footprint)?

This is what puts me off having so much equpment running. I have a bog standard Sky router and I can share files, printers etc without a problem, I don't see the need for a computer to do that with some storage!

A little out of date but more or less this

Server is now running WHS 2011. Server is a 2100 i3 on an H67 chipset board.

Hub wiring

Cat6 laid throughout the 2 story apartment.

If only I could get the media players to see the WHS 2011 shares all would be well but that is for another thread... speaking of which, time to post it

Costs me 20p per day. Everything else in my house is energy saving stuff. Or as best as I can get it. That said, I still have quite high electricity bills due to the sheer amount of gadgets, and the fact I have a lser in my spare room which likes to suck up the juice!
