Just done 650 miles of driving the weekend gone mainly motorway and averaged 51.7mpg according to the computer. Not bad for a mapped diesel vectra...

How do you only get 28mpg @70mph? The 1.8 diesel engine in the focus must be a awful engine. Completely defeat's the point of having a tractor engine in your car.

Sure there is nothing wrong with your car? Been to the moon and back a few times maybe? Not bandwagon jumping, generally curious as to why it has such rubbish MPG?

I don't really see how you intend to prove it anyway?

A tank average is completely pointless unless you do nothing other than an 80mph cruise on the whole tank and then a 70mph cruise on a whole tank, otherwise the figures will just get skewed by all your other driving (like around town), the sort of figures that can vary massively day to day through no control of your own anyway.

My work commute can be anywhere between 25MPG and 35MPG dependant on what traffic lights catch me, which roundabouts are busy etc.

Instantaneous OBC displays are also totally pointless as you can manipulate those into displaying almost anything with the right sort of driving.

Take a 30 mile motoway run up to my fathers. The route has a filling station, both Shell, by the entry and exit junctions of the motorway. I usually take the journey with no other traffic around. I'll brim the tank and work it out. I'll even run the car the same way on the motorway incase it's slightly unfair to measure each way.

Explains that one then haha.

I was looking at the Sig and assuming the focus.

Why have you got a Sig of a Focus when you have Monaro? You the one with the red one? I recognise people by sigs and not usernames.

We'll be wanting those fuel receipts scanned in too, just so we know you're not making it up :p

I am being serious here, why are people pointing out the mpg of a Monaro when this guy has a pic of a bloody Ford Focus in his sig.

This issue needs sorting first. Its like having Cameron Diaz as a wife but taking your bit on the side 'scary Mary' to the ball. Get it sorted!

Make me a new sig! :p

Isn't that Princey's Monaro?
Heh. How can you tell, they all look the same to me :p

I seem to be getting about 23mpg from mainly city driving in my 350z. It's probably about the same as I used to get in the 2.0 Golf... I can quite easily bumble about in 5th in the zed though. I hope that's normal? :o
