I consistently get worse mpg on super unleaded than normal 95 RON and thats on a 2.0TFSI VAG lump which makes no sense. Ive tried alternating tanks and running several tanks in a row and every time SUL drops me a couple of MPG.

What super unleaded are you using?

my one is between 45-48 MPG in an 2.0TDI A6...if i stick to 60-70mph i can get it above 50, but this rarely happens....find this actually quite reasonable as this is not a small car

On my current tank I've averaged 35.3 so far, mostly my work commute, average speed is 47 mph ish (I mostly cruise control 65mph on dual carriageway with AC on) At the beginning and end of the 35mile commute there are a couple of miles of potential speeding up and slowing down for roundabouts and what not. Done 290 miles on the tank so far with about 160 left to run. Current fuel is Esso premium 97 RON.

I've been quite restrained on this tank so far, usually I'll have a couple of heated moments on every commute for smile generation and the tank finishes up somewhere around 33mpg. If I drive around town instead or go on a few joy rides at the weekend it diminishes further!

You are very much mistaken as Thorney Motorsport did some tests and the gains were huge!

Looooooooooooooooool :D

It looks like Tesco have removed that "research" from their website now.

If that is true then how do they get away with their marketing lines which specifically state that it improves mpg? Genuine question, I'm not a Momentum fanboy at all.

Had my wheels aligned today and managed a new record of 33mpg (Up from the usual 28'ish) in my ST, most boring drive of my life though :p

I push on, but nothing silly and most the time I am in cruise at motorway speeds. I don't try to manage my fuel consumption, I simply get in and drive and based on real world that's about where it sits. Not as good as I expected, but better than 20mpg-24mpg

Just out of interest, you have checked your iDrive isn't recording in US MPG? Mine gets reset back to that whenever the dealer plugs the car in

1.4 petrol focus - JUST gets 41mpg.... :p

Still **** compared to my 1.8 diesel escort as that used to get around 60mpg.... had no turbo though so the 0-60 time was measured in days......

I can't work out the point of the 1.4 Focus, it's hideously underpowered and just about manages the same MPG as a 1.6 Focus.

I don't really know either but it's cheap and works (touch wood! lol) and it is slow but that means it limits me as i can be a bit 'enthusiastic'!

Kinda like my escort - i can't do more than 70mph legally and that would barely do 70! lol

I am probably one of the most impulsive people ever and i need things to limit me....
