Around 24MPG overall in my car, 90% Driving in & around Stoke.

8.6MPG Average overall with my Scania although this weeks average thus far is only 6.5MPG

I get 41-44mpg virtually regardless of aircon and spirited driving.

53 reg Focus 1.6

Much better than the 32-35mpg I got out of the 1.8 I owned prior to this.

gt

Stupid P.O.S. 1.8 Zafira I have at the moment is getting 30.7mpg.
And I'm driving really carefully! (70mph @ 3200rpm)

Previous Golf Bluemotion was getting 57-62mpg depending on the type of travelling I was doing. (70mph @ 1900rpm!!!)

Passat 1.9tdi from before that used to do about 47-50mpg (70mph @ ~2300rpm)

Mine is 2500rpm at 70.

I was about to ask why your (MPG) figure is so close to mine, given you have a manual I was expecting you to get a little more, reading that though seems to answer my own question, its a fair bit lower geared than an auto then? - @ 70, my 528i is just under 2000rpm

60mpg - mainly dual carriageway + town driving commute.

Can get 70mpg on a long motorway run

Fiesta MK7 ZS TDCi

The Auto is about 15% less efficient than the manual. Have an auto 530i to play with now as well :p

Between 15 and 20mpg depending on the type of driving. Average over 1367 miles is 18.57mpg.

Your parents e60 I guess.

I know the auto is less efficient, but given the RPM @70MPH, the extra 500RPM seems to almost cancel this difference out.

@2500RPM, I'm nearly doing 80.

I like your 15.54MPG average over 212 miles Olly, either a fun blast, or sat in a fair bit of traffic?

As an average no but on a long motorway journey its far from impressive given the car in question. A 2 litre Mondeo wouldn't be far off.

To put it into perspective I had a 2005 2.0 Mondeo estate hire car for Glastonbury this year, I drove it 50 miles on the motorway before we loaded it up with stuff and it returned only 32MPG, with all the camping gear and 4 people the entire 350 mile round trip to the festival and back returned 27MPG. The year before my old S3 (albeit with only 3 people and less gear) returned 31MPG for the same trip.

Not sure if that was par for the course but I thought the car was thirstier than it should be. It was a hire car though so could very possibly have been knackered.

The e60 is a manual. This is another E39 Sport. It's less economical than mine in every set of circumstances.

Your numbers seem very wrong. 1000rpm between 70 and 80?

27 as an overall average. Combination of driving from b-road blasts to motorway cruising. It averages about 8 around a track :p

2001 S3 (remapped)

My car is a '54 Mondeo 2.0 TDCi, at the last top-up with petrol the dashboard was at 58mpg. Mostly dual carriageway driving with a little bit of pottering about urban areas on the weekend - having 6 gears means that at 68mph I sit at about 1750 rpm. I've turned into a boring driver since petrol prices have gone up and I worked out how to use the cruise control :p
