A colleague/friend/family member changes something about their appearance and you think that they shouldn't have, for example, cut their hair that short, had their eyebrows completely removed, worn lipstick brighter than the sun etc.

A woman I work with had her hair cut quite short compared to how it used to be and imo it didn't suit. Not wanting to come across as totally unobservant or rude I mentioned 'Had a haircut then' or something to that effect. Now had I liked whatever the change may have been I would have commented 'I like it/that's nice etc'.

She did ask 'Do you like it?'. I can't remember what I replied but I didn't let on that I thought she now looked like a man. I didn't want to lie and be like ' I LOVE it!' because she'll only continue to look like a bloke.

Guys & Girls of OCUK what do you say to get you out of a similar sticky situation when someone has changed their appearance (for the worse in your opinion) and asked what you think of it?

Last time I had my hair cut, when she held the mirror up and said "how is that?"

I replied, with a serious face on.. "can you make it longer"

Took her a few seconds to realise I was joking :D

Depends how close you are, if it was my housemate i'd be brutally honest, if it was my mum it would look amazing whatever :)
