I'm sure this thread has been done before, but still... What is your top 5 games? Any console, or PC, or handheld.

Now don't base this on intense graphics or great story line, but truly what you've played and enjoyed the most and how long you've played them.

1. Shenmue (1 and 2) - Completed both twice.
2. Subspace/Continuum - Been playing 10+ years
3. Pokemon (Blue) - Completed 6 or 7 times
4. Skate (1, 2 and 3) - Unsure, but 100%'d apart from Online challenges
5. Project Gotham Racing (2, 3 and 4) - Still play every now and then.

Honorable Mention:

Die Hard Arcade - Played this in an arcade in southern France when I was about 10, wasted a ton of my parents money on it.

console section is titled "pc games" oh wait you need to move your cursor a few pixels below where it says "pc games" and click on the other link

Since there is no general 'Gaming' section and I didn't want to limit top 5's to PC or Console, I posted it here. There isn't much choice. And my gaming rig of choice is PC.

quakeIII - classic still play it now, but no longer play it 8 hrs a day

medal of honor - very fond memories of this

HLDM - wasted god know how long on that

dungeon keeper II - classic still play now and then

BF2 - what more has to be said!

current fav is monster hunter tri on the Wii !!!!! - I know, I know but its addictive !

Joint 1st/2nd: System Shock 2/Deus ex

3rd: Total Annihilation

4th: UT99

5th: i think i'll say Psychonauts

honourable mentions go to star trek: bridge commander, voyager: elite force and Counterstrike 1.6

1. Zelda: Ocarina of Time - One of a kind.
2. Jedi Knight: Dark Forces 2 - The sheer thrill you get from playing this game, it's just brilliant.
3. Mario 64 - Too much fun is integrated within this game, an all time classic.
4. Medal of Honor: Allied Assault - Same as the Mario 64 description.
5. Mass Effect 1 - Bioware made something truly immense, and they did it again with the second Mass Effect, i hope the final Mass Effect is definitley something to leave the series with a bang.

No way I can put it in order, but my favourites would be:

Final Fantasy 7
RTCW
Baldur's Gate
Super Mario Kart (SNES version)
Tomb Raider

Bubbling under: X Wing vs TIE Fighter, Wipeout 2097, Metal Gear Solid, WoW, Fifa 97.

1. Half-life 2 - Might remain my #1 game of all time until the end of time. Other spots in these lists always vary but HL2 has been clear cut #1 ever since it was released.
2. World of Warcraft - Though I've quit it, I enjoyed most of my time in that game way too much.
3. Deus Ex - First playthrough couple of weeks ago. Yes, it's still that good.
4. iRacing - I can't have a top 5 list without one sim and currently iRacing is simply better than all the other sims.
5. Company of Heroes - Favourite RTS. Everything just works in that game.

Hard to put them in order. Other notables are games like Counter-Strike, Supreme Commander, BC2 for the audio alone, Richard Burns Rally, Mafia, Diablo 2, Civ4. Pretty mainstream list but I do like the less well known titles just as well. Based on time spent I really should put games like Icesus, Angband and Crossfire in that list too. You ask me the same question tomorrow, 2-5 spots will be completely different but as I said, number one will stay.

1) Elite 2
2) C&C Renegade
3) C&C yuris revenge
4) Soldier of fortune
5) Call of duty or was it Call of Duty 2? ( the one with was it omah beech, d-d landings with teh bunkers on top of hills with machine guns)

People might not consider 2,3,4 great games. But they were very balanced online and amazing fun. Even if they lacked realism and graphics. They made it up with sheer gameplay and enjoyability. Smething I feel is lost these days for graphics, physics and realism.
