What's your upgrade next month?

What's happening on July the 22nd?

Anyway, I am hopefully getting quite a big revamp to my own system.

The following:

Painfully old beige Enlight midi-tower case
Tagan 380w psu
Radeon 9600LE
CTX PR711F 17" crt monitor

Are eager to become:

Antec Solo
Corsair hx520w
8800gts 320mb (brand undecided)
20/22" widescreen lcd monitor (again, brand undecided)

Hopefully an Abit IP35-PRO, some G.Skill HZ 6400, and a Core 2 Duo (unless the Quads drop significantly in price).

These will then be overclocked to within an inch of their life, as does all my hardware :p

I can't wait for the price cuts.

I'll be getting two of the following:

E6600 or Q6600 - not sure yet.
EVGA 680i
2GB Cellshock PC6400
EVGA GeForce 8800 GTX (in one system - 8800GTS in the other)
Gigabyte 3D Aurora 570

i was going to wait for the quad core price cuts but i couldnt so i bought a cheapo e6320 and its clocked at 3.1ghz now. Not sure whether i'm going to bother. I will probably more likely wait for a quad core penryn chip.

I'll be getting E6600 or Q6600.
Gigabyte p35 DS3R
320gb hdd
Crucial Ballistix 2GB
Lian-Li PC-7
8800gts 320mb

And I currently have:
ASUS-A7N8X-LA motherboard
1gb pc2700
AMD Barton 2800+ @ 2080 MHz
80gb hdd
7600gt palit AGP

So, ya

Next month, hopefully:

E6600
8800GTX
WD 500GB AAKS
DS3R-P35C
2GB Ballistix 6400 or 8000 depending on budget

My current spec:

P4 3GHZ 530
7600GT
Maxtor 200GB
Asus P5P800-SE
1GB Corsair XMS3200 Pro DDR

So yea, I should noticed an ever so slight increase in speed :D :p

My guess is the price cuts will only be reflected in early August, I can't wait that long!

I guess I should be going for a Q6600 when the price cuts happen, especially as games are starting to take advantage of it now ;)

I'll probably be a little gutted when I check in early August after the price drop as the E6600 should be quite a bit cheaper  ... oh well.

I'm looking to get a new harddrive...my backup drive is making these awful "clicking" noises, and I know what that means.........

A quad would be tempting but I'm happy with what I've got so hopefully the credit card will stay in the wallet.

Thinking a Q6600 with a P35 board. Although I may just get the Q6600 and use current board to keep cash for X38's when they appear later in the year. Upgrading graphics this month, 7600GT->2900XT.

Was going to get a Q6600, but as my e4300 @ 3GHz is handling everything quite well I might just wait for Penryn quads.

Was also thinking I might replace my X-Fi extreme music with a real X-Fi, but might jsut put all upgrades off for a while as I would like to go on a nice holiday for a couple of weeks around August time.

Intel Quad Core (2x2 chips like the Q6600) price cuts, around 40-50% off. This because 1 x 4 Quad Cores (so called 'proper' Quad Cores) like Penryn will be coming out in the autumn.

Me, probably another 2GB of RAM, Quad Core in August, maybe a 22" monitor as well.

Q6600 or E6850 (depending on steppings) or may just wait for Wolfdale and Yorkfield
4gb of RAM (undecided but hopefully some more Crucial Balistix Tracer 8500)
LG 22LS4R 22"
new graphics card - 8800GTX or 1gb HD2900XT (other something else maybe)
1tb Hitatchi (hopefully)
