Don't understand what you mean "over the airwaves" which suggests its using some kind of radio reception like 3G or 4G. Is it basically a fibre connection or something else?

Hmm, seems link is broken, but it's 5.5 down and .6 up. Considering I often upload large numbers of 25MB raw files, it's a real pain.

So the best upload speed reported here so far is between 17-18mbit on an 80/20 FTTC connection and also another reportedly on a BT connection.

So my upload speed is indeed pretty good for a 20mbit down connection.

The only way you can tell I am on a fibre service is from the upload speed as 20mbit down was obtainable on ADSL2+ as indeed you are testament too.

Not sure what's up with the latency on there as I can ping the US sub 20ms.

My mum lives about 6km from her exchange, with BT she manages to get an ok ping (50ish) and 1mb down, 0.3 up

Seems the only way to get above 17-18mbit upload is with a Gigabit 1000mbit fibre connection as some lucky bar stewards near where I live on a different ISP get.

However it costs them £ 60 a month + landline costs.

Serious question? An ISP; what else.

Friend of mine is with them. They are very good, but expensive. He joined them from his previous ISP, who were a nightmare. He had a problem with his line but they would not do anything about it. He moved to AAISP once his contract was up, and they got on to BT until his line was fixed.
