Whats your work/doss around level?

About 50/50 here, I tend to work a lot more in the morning. Around 1 it turns into doss time.

also depends on the amount of work that come in...

I usually try and get to work between 630-700am and leave around 1730pm, and some days I can spend a bit of time on the forums, but some days I seldom have time to make a cup of tea or get my admin lady to make me one.Swings and roundabouts. More often than not I'm holding meetings, attending meetings and doing data anlaysis or do conference calls (ideal time for browsing :D).

At the moment, it would take me the full day. I've moved to a new department where they are actually managing to keep me busy.

I do naff all, but I am paid mainly for being there in case of emergency when I work nights, the days I do more work but when you have meetings and stuff with others it always means waiting.

Can be boring at times. would love to work for myself for this reason.

Me? I reckon if I get to work at 9am, I could be out of the door by 11am each day having achieved about the same as what I 'dossing around included' manage by 5:30pm!

Sounds like your company is pouring money down the drain employing too many people!

I probably have the opposite problem and find that I have to work though my lunch, stay late, and still leave at the end of the day with a to-do list that's never ending.

3-4 hours max working from a 12 hour night, usually about 1-2 hours on a 12 hour dayshift. Thats the nature of the work though, if nothing goes wrong you can't fix it.

Luckily we have a plasma, DVD player, games consoles etc so the days and nights don't get too boring.

8 hour shift. Work about 5 hours of it.

The work never runs out unfortunately, although we do get periods of nothing happening. We obviously still need to be plugged in and alert, but a magazine helps pass the time ;)

I do 4 nights but its not about what hours i work but how much we generate in the night, theres only 3 of us ,so it may be one cad drawing plus setting up then let the machine do the work or 30 jobs, but if the works not done for the managers to invoice in the morning we get severe ear ache so we could be lazy and do 10k or work like mad people and do 3k

Easy by 11 - 12 every day. If you didn't include the 2.5hours worth of breaks it could also be less :p

But on some days it is all work, but sometimes you have to wait to be able to do something. Crap that way.

There is almost always a queue of jobs waiting to be resourced by me and my colleagues, and if there isn't then we're out patrolling and being proactive. That never lasts too long though, as we invariably get another grade one call shortly afterwards. I'm lucky if I can get enough time to eat on most shifts.
