WhatsApp auto backup to iCloud

Is anyone else having an issue all of a sudden where WhatsApp chats don’t automatically backup daily or weekly as set in the settings? I just noticed because I got a notification and it hasn’t backed up my chats for the past three weeks.

I’ve tried signing out of iCloud, checking storage etc. and my chats are still not automatically backing up.

They do back up manually though.

Is this more likely to be a WhatsApp issue rather than iCloud?

I have tried re-installing WhatsApp and deleting the backups.

I’ve just checked my WhatsApp and it backed up in the early hours of this morning. No problems here, it’s all working.

What do you mean it errors? It just doesn’t back up and you have to manually back it up?

I've had issues with mine from time to time, I just put it down to the fact that it's made by Meta.

Haha this is true. As the manual chats backup works normally, I would have thought it would be Meta rather than Apple.

A notification in WhatsApp that the backup has failed. I then go in a manually back. Never got to the bottom of why it’s like that.

Since moving to iPhone, so 3 years.
