Hi,

I created What Is My Aspect Ratio? (whatismyaspectratio.com). It tells you the aspect ratio of your display. Should work with any TV, projector, computer or phone display (provided there is a browser to access the site with).

It’s targeted at people who don’t know much about aspect ratios and don’t know their own aspect ratio (or resolution). Could be useful if you want to know this yourself or want to know this of a non-tech savvy friend or family member.

Hope you find it useful.

Feedback welcome.

Got the right ratio (16:9) but tells me I'm using 3840x2160 when it's 2560x1440.

If I zoom the browser larger/smaller it changes those numbers as well.

Not sure if that's intentional?

Yes the zoom seems to change the numbers.

Chrome at 200% and hey presto, retina!

Nice idea though, it's very clean and simple.

Can I ask what monitor you are using? It sounds like you have a '4K' monitor but things are being scaled by a factor of 1.5 giving you an effective resolution of 2560x1440. My code should ignore this scaling and give you the actual resolution of the monitor.
