Do you balance rear wheels?

Had two 18/35/245 Pirelli Pzerro Rosso stuck on the rear today and when I queried why they didn't balancethem I was told you don't on rears just the front.

Now the dude had an M3 Evo himself and was in the trade so I didn't argue but jsut wanted to make sure he wasnt talking rubbish.

there was no balance weights on the rear before I changed the tyres thinking about it.

On a side not when the wheels were off I could check for the hall mark to prove my AC Schnitzer type IIs were the real deal which they are :) Yay!

Personally I would get them all balanced. Otherwise you can't rotate the wheels front/rear to balance out tyre wear.

The rears are wider and back specific.

Did they balance your rears because they need to or to charge you more? I don't know the answer just asking ;)
