I've got some stock 106 gti alloys i'm going to replace my steels with but my curret wheel bolts are taperd not flat would you still use them anyway?

cheers
Zaf,

Nope. Don't use the steelie bolts on the alloys. The taper will damage the flat face of the alloy, as well as possibly puting you at risk. You'll most likely need longer bolts anyway. Get down to a peugeot dealer and say look these are the wheels I need the correct bolts for em.

The tapered bolts will come undone on the flat surface. been there, done that, scarred the road, got the t-shirt :D

well the alloys are slightly taperd but my steel bolts still dont sit flush so flat bolts are the way to go then yes? I've been to pug and they want £5 a bolt

£5 a bolt???? I managed to kick one of my bolts when I had the wheel off - rolled across the pavement and into the drain :( £1.16 for one?

WEll to be honest I cant see my mate who works for a pug dealer trying to rip me off. Was yours a flat seated alloy wheel bolt or just normal?

Most motorfactors keep wheelnuts. I doubt they'll be £5 each somehow, my chromies were only about £1 each.
