This morning i was driving to work, i went round a bend at about 40mph and noticed a boulder in the road approx the size of a black bowling ball (crown green type), i started to move to avoid it when a car came from the other side so i had to manoevre to avoid the oncoming car and the boulder went under my car hitting the fron t wheel giving me a blow out, after taking the wheel off and replacing it with the space saver , i have quite a large dent on the inside of the wheel

(i know my tyre is bald, i got newe ones coming on Tuesday)

Anyway, has anyone else had a similar repair and
what kind of cost am i looking at?

Thanks

probs best to post of pic of the front of the wheel on a mondeo/ford owners club and ask if anyone is able to name the wheel. might find someone has a spare lying around that you can buy of them

for £55 i could probably replace the wheel with the peace of mind that i'm not driving on a repaired wheel. I am feeling far from flush after spending a grand on camera equipment in the last few weeks. FMOC won't let me log in but had a look at their classifieds and can't see any :(

I had a similar situation with my golf mk4 18" alloys, however it was vertically buckled than horizontally (if you understand me). I was told they could not repair it, the only options were to buy a new one or go back to my original tryes/ trims.

check out fordpartsuk.com. There'll at least be able to tell you what alloy it is and the codes/price that you need to order a new one.

I had a wheel repaired which was cracked and buckled similar, i had the rim repaired (ally welded etc, and I covered 30k in the mondeo without any issues, company was A1 renovations in the west midlands.

well, yesterday, i went driving about trying to sort something with my wheel when i got a screw in my back wheel, could hear it going down, my spacesaver was on the front so had to go get it repaired quite sharpish, anyhow, i've just got back from ford parts and parted with £130 of the queens finest for 1 wheel, (£110.64 +VAT) then got 2 new front tyres fitted for £18 so all in all, my wheels have cost me the best part of £300 this week :(
