My new matt black alloys arrive next week and before I fit them I'd like to give them a good coat of wax. Any suggestions?

I've already got a pretty good collection of waxes including Collinite, Victoria Concourse, Meguirs etc so if there's any of those which might do the job then I might as well use them rather than buy specialist wheel stuff.

As much as I love Poorboy's Wheel Sealant, it's not the most durable wax. Having tried a few now, for it's overall properties I can highly recommend Collinite 845. It might not have the extra 5% shine that some of the waxes give, but on matt black I can' think of anything much better without looking at £30+ waxes. I've not tried Gtechniq G5 as I'm not happy with the company due to some issues I had that went unresolved.

It also somehow ended up getting tested as a wheel wax in Auto Express Car Wheel Wax Test, and won it!

The guy I collected from alloys from used poor boys on them, cleaned them yesterday and took no time at all. Will definitely be using it now to keep them easy to clean.
