Just buying all my cabling for an imminent purchase of Onkyo 808 and B&W 684 Home Theatre with ASW610 Sub.

What is the trigger? to turn on the sub power from standby? Can i expect to get a trigger cable in the package?

thanks

It's only useful if your AV receiver has a 12v trigger output in order to switch on external devices. Does your Onkyo have such a trigger output?

Most of us don't bother even when the feature is available. Decent subs autosense when a signal is present and switch themselves on.

the amp and the asw610 support a trigger. just read this so i think i will need. ocuk sells 5m for a few pounds
Standby:
With the switch set to Standby the
subwoofer will become active when 12V is applied to
the Trigger Input (Item 10 in Figure 1). Zero volts at the
input will return the subwoofer to sleep. The indicator
will glow green when the subwoofer is active and red

when the subwoofer is in sleep.

The 808 has sub phono outs and the ASW610 has auto sense, so you shouldn't need to use a trigger!

oh yes

Low-pass filter bypass
