Whos getting one evern tho there probably not going to be as good as intel?

This is my prob, I really want to stay with amd, but for about the same price intel are faster. Like I would need a board mem and cpu, and I know Id be wasting my money sticking with amd, but theres just something about amd and plus ive only had 2 intel cpus over 11yrs. Can you guys tell me why I should stick with amd when I build my new sys???

I'm probably not the man for the job considering that I just built a new Q6600 system after years of only buying AMD. I'd be very happy if Phenom is competative with Penryn, but sadly at the moment it looks like my next upgrade will be to a Penryn system.

They are apparantly out on the 19th.

However, the 9500, 9600 and 9700's will no longer be 2.2, 2.4 and 2.6ghz.

Slowed to: 2.2, 2.3 and 2.4ghz.

AMD need to get their act back together.

Well you should first wait for the Phenoms to come out and read the actual reviews of the thing to help you decide. I hope they are close in terms of performance with the Intel's offerings but there are also other things to take into consideration like power consumption, overclockability if you are into it and offcourse the price. Also except Intel to drop down their prices if the Phenom is very close performance wise before you decide what to get.

just move over to intel, dont limit your computers performance, for the sake of being an AMD fanboy. I lost my faith in AMD after they merged with ATI. My 3500 venice in my second machine is probably the last AMD cpu i'll ever buy, unless AMD get their act together and pull out something worth buying.

Someone is holding a Asus M2N-SLi board for me, Id be a fool to buy it yet off him tho until the cpus are out.. My main wrorries with am2 boards is cos they've been out for a while now, there might be a diff socket boards around the corner for newer amd cpus. Im wanting the board to take better cpus in the next few years to come, like with my s939 board ive had for 3yrs now.
