Hi all,

in the interest of timing a system upgrade well, and being behind on what's happening when, could anyone provide me of expected dates when manufacturers are expected to release major updates to their products?

E.g:

Next gen ATi / nVidia cards
Next gen Intel / AMD CPUs
Any major planned improvements for SSDs (beyond Sata 6Gbps)

Or anything else that is worth waiting for (yes I know you can wait ad infinitum, I just want to make sure I know when the next things are coming)

Thanks in advance, and hope this is helpful for others!

ATi cards this fall. Nvidia cards early 2011.
New Intel/AMD CPUs in late 2011.
Well, that's what I heard anyway, only an estimate.

According to recent reports Intel's new "Sandy Bridge" based chips will be out earlier than previously planned - this will likely mean we see some new Intel chips by the end of this year.

The ones released first are most likely to be the s1155 mainstream variety (originally planned for release in Q1 2011), hopefully the release of the s2011 enthusiast chips will also be brought forward (originally planned for release in Q3 2011).

Will keep an eye out for the Intels, looks like I can wait a few months for the new ati/nvidia cards to see where it's at :)

Given sata 6G / usb3 are now out, no other major upgrades on the horizon I'm guessing.

Cheers all!
